Public Health, Policy & Planning
We help people with HIV connect to medical care and supportive services, including dental care, food assistance, counseling, housing support, and emergency financial assistance through referral to our community-based organizations and partners. Our goal is to make sure every person has the support they need to stay healthy and achieve an undetectable viral load. When HIV is undetectable, it cannot be sexually transmitted — Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U).
HIV Partner Services is a free, voluntary, client-centered, and confidential service offered through the local health department. Specially trained staff work with people diagnosed with HIV to help notify sexual and/or needle-sharing partners of possible HIV exposure while protecting the confidentiality of the person with HIV.
Partner Services provides options for anonymous third-party notification, supported disclosure, or self-disclosure. Partners can also be connected to HIV testing, prevention services such as PrEP, and medical care as appropriate.
