Public Health, Policy & Planning
The Field Medicine program provides convenient medical care to farm workers at their place of work, along with their adult family members.
Offering culturally sensitive, comprehensive care outside of a traditional clinic setting, Field Medicine minimizes barriers such as transportation and appointment schedules, as well as immigration and insurance status. The Field Medicine Team builds trust and empowers patients to take charge and control of their health care needs.
The Field Medicine team visits farms located in Pescadero and Half Moon Bay, along with other sites on the Central and South coasts of San Mateo County. Field Medicine works with community partners Puente De La Costa Del Sur and ALAS to reach out to the farmworking community, share information and coordinate medical appointments.
Additional primary and specialty health care services, dental care, mental health and substance use support are available by referral.
Farmworkers and their adult family members are eligible for services from Field Medicine, regardless of insurance coverage and immigration status.
