Behavioral Health & Recovery Services
Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS) welcomes individuals of all cultures, race, ethnicities, and ages who need mental health and/or substance use support and serves many specialty need groups, including individuals who are uninsured, unhoused, conservatees, living with developmental disabilities, perinatal, children ages 0-5 and their parents, foster youth, children in schools, justice-involved, and/or experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
The BHRS Access Call Center is the entry point for Medi-Cal beneficiaries seeking non-emergency mental health and/or substance use treatment services in San Mateo County. The Access Call Center is available 24/7:
Language Services – Access Call Center staff speak English, Spanish, and Chinese. For other languages, they will assist you through a free telephone interpreter service.
Insurance – BHRS serves individuals who are uninsured or have the following insurance plans: Medi-Cal, CareAdvantange, Medicare, San Mateo County Access and Care for Everyone (ACE) or HealthWorx.
