The In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority (IHSSPA) collaborates with San Mateo County In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) to deliver a service model dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities who choose to live independently and with dignity in their homes and communities. Public Authorities were established to act as the Employer of Record for IHSS Provider services and to operate a Registry of caregivers, matching providers with recipients in need of care.
The Public Authority is a distinct public agency in San Mateo County, governed by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors with input from the Public Authority Advisory Committee (PAAC).
The PAAC is dedicated to supporting the independence and dignity of older adults and individuals with disabilities. This committee provides a platform for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) recipients, caregivers, advocates, and other interested stakeholders to contribute to the development of Public Authority policies, services, and programs.
If you are interested in more information or would like to serve as a member of the Committee, please contact Lee Pullen at lpullen@smcgov.org.
Public Authority Advisory Committee meetings occur every other month and agendas are posted at the Board of Supervisors Committee Bulletin Board (2000 Alameda de Las Pulgas, San Mateo).
