The San Mateo County EMS Agency is the County’s designated Local Emergency Medical Services Agency (LEMSA) within San Mateo County Health. The Agency plans, regulates, coordinates and evaluates the countywide EMS system; establishes clinical and operational standards; certifies EMTs and accredits paramedics; monitors provider performance and specialty systems of care; and coordinates medical and health emergency preparedness and response. We work with 9-1-1 dispatch centers, fire departments, ambulance providers, hospitals, law enforcement and public-health partners to ensure timely, safe and coordinated emergency care.
