STI/HIV Community Board

Public Health, Policy & Planning

The San Mateo County STD/HIV Program Community Board is a volunteer group of individuals that represent the interests of persons living with HIV/AIDS in San Mateo County.

The Board advises the San Mateo County HIV Program and provides ongoing direction about program policy, planning and development of all HIV/AIDS prevention and care services for San Mateo County residents.

Who we are

The San Mateo County STD/HIV Program Community Board is a community planning group that provides input into the prioritization and allocation of resources for HIV/AIDS programs and services in the County. We also provide input to the San Francisco HIV Health Services Planning Council for their prioritization and allocation process.

What we do

We support the mission of the San Mateo County HIV Program. The Program provides comprehensive, community-based prevention and testing services, HIV/AIDS related health care, medical case management, harm reduction therapy, and referrals to community agencies providing housing assistance, food assistance, dental care and emergency financial assistance. Members of the community board provide input to the HIV Program around services needed by the community. We participate in the annual HIV Program service prioritization process.

Communities we serve

We serve people at risk for and living with HIV/AIDS in San Mateo County and their families. We focus on underserved populations and communities who are at risk for HIV.

Our meetings

The board meets quarterly. Please see below for schedule, agenda, minutes and presentations. A stipend is provided to community members living with HIV. Everyone is invited to attend, and a meal is provided. We meet in a conference room on the Health campus at 225 37th Avenue in San Mateo.
