Jacob Johnson
PGY4 Co-Chief resident
Jacob is a graduate of the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) School of Medicine. He is a San Mateo County chief resident and UCSF Public Psychiatry fellow. He completed a BA at Columbia University in Comparative Literature and Society and an MA in German Literature at UC Berkeley. As a medical student, Jacob served as a patient navigator at the Bridges student run free clinic and volunteered as a grant assistant for the Chrysalis Support group for girls with a history of trauma and abuse. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he co-founded and chaired the Oregon Student Service Corps, an interprofessional community service network that pursued health equity initiatives including procuring masks for agricultural workers. He has a background in research on homelessness, psychodermatology, and quality improvement. His professional interests include addiction medicine, LGBTQIA+ topics, working in carceral systems, and reverse integration of medical services into community mental health clinics, including screening and treatment for HIV and hepatitis C. He is a trainee at the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program and was a 2023-2024 MERF scholar. He speaks German.
