24-Hour Emergency & Advice Line
for Older & Dependent Adults
The Aging and Adult Services Hotline is San Mateo County’s 24-hour information and emergency response line. It helps older adults, people with disabilities, dependent adults, and caregivers access the services they need to keep them safe. The Hotline line is staffed by experienced social workers.
Information and Referral
Hotline staff answer questions about the wide variety of services available through the County and in the community. The Hotline is the main entry point for services provided by the Aging and Adult Services Division.
ACCESS Call Center
For assistance in finding mental health and/or substance use services for someone who may be experiencing a mental illness and/or substance use condition, or for someone you are concerned about, call the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) ACCESS Call Center for information, an assessment and a referral based on individual needs. BHRS serves San Mateo County residents who have or are eligible for Medi-Cal, or those who are uninsured.

Office Hours
Vital Records is open to customers and funeral homes
from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for certified copies of birth and
death certificates.
Applications for medical marijuana cards are accepted on a walk-in basis during regular office hours.
Records for home births / out-of-hospital births continue to be on an appointment basis. Please call (650) 573-2395 to schedule.
