Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden unexplained death of an infant under one year of age.

The SIDS Program focuses on educating families and childcare providers about SIDS and what can be done to reduce the risk of SIDS, such as placing babies on their back to sleep.

The San Mateo County SIDS Program provides health education, resources and grief counseling for families.
