Asia was referred to Cal-Learn at the beginning of her senior year of high school. The mother of a two year old daughter, Asia’s goal was to go to college and become an ultrasound technician. Her Cal-Learn case manager worked with her to explore colleges and internship opportunities related to her career goal. Asia maintained a 3.0 GPA average while also working part-time. She also took advantage of other resources and supports, such as a teen mother support group and the Adolescent Family Life Program. Asia earned her diploma in Spring 2015 and received a college scholarship. She will be attending CSM in the fall.
