WHAT: On Saturday, December 8th, Santa will lead the Golden Gate Harley Owners group (HOGs) to deliver hundreds of gifts for children who receive care at San Mateo Medical Center, the county’s public hospital. This year’s Holiday Toy Run marks the 29th anniversary of the event.

The public and media are invited to cheer on the riders, meet Santa, and attend a free reception hosted by the medical center’s volunteers and staff.

“The kids get so excited when they hear the roar of the motorcycles approaching,” said Glynis Carreira, Volunteer Coordinator. “Welcoming Santa and the Harley riders to the San Mateo Medical Center is always the highlight of the season.”

Harley riders and visitors will place gifts for kids under a holiday tree. The gifts will be delivered to hundreds of children who receive care at San Mateo Medical Center’s hospital, dental, and community clinics during the holidays.

“We are grateful for our long-standing partnership with the Golden Gate Harley Owners group, and for their boundless generosity,” said Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Chester Kunnappilly. “The gifts they donate brighten the holidays for our young patients.”

More than 2,000 new, unwrapped toys for babies and kids through age 17 are needed. The public can make donations in advance by calling (650) 573-3731, or by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to place under the tree at the event.
