Emergency Services

If you think your medical problem is critical or life-threatening, call 9-1-1.

Our emergency services are located on the first floor of the hospital at 222 West 39th Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94403.

We are taking extra steps to keep our patients safe when seeking emergency care.

If you need emergency care, you will be screened when you enter the Emergency Room. If you have respiratory symptoms, you will be given a mask to wear. If you have respiratory symptoms and meet the screening criteria for COVID-19, you will be given a mask and asked to wait in a separate area for care.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) testing is not available on request. Just like testing for other infectious diseases, such as the flu, the first step is a full evaluation by your healthcare provider.

Psychiatric Emergencies

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency or is in a life threatening situation, call 9-1-1 and say: “I’m calling about a mental health emergency and request a CIT (Crisis Intervention Trained) Officer.”

CIT Officers have special training and know best how to get you the help you need. Here are easy-to-follow guidelines for calling 9-1-1 during a mental health emergency.

Keller Center for Family Violence Intervention

The Keller Center is here to help the victims of child abuse, elder abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. We provide medical, emotional, social, and legal care and support.
